In this lecture, Prof. Andolfi describes how to train family therapists in the use of themselves and how to transform impasses and professional handicaps in therapeutic resources. Psychotherapy is a branch of knowledge at the cross road between scientific disciplines and humanities. Therefore, therapists have to go beyond their professional understanding about problems and learn how to experience people’s issues and pain. This video is the result of 50 years of Andofi’s clinical work and training of therapists from all over the world and will outline how to make use of self-disclosure, how to build up an inner supervisor and to acquire a therapeutic serenity in moving in and out of the family system. An international training group is actively engaged in the second part of the lecture, which shows concretely the use of family sculpture, role-playing and prescriptions in the learning process.
