In this lecture, Prof. Maurizio Andolfi describes how to rediscover a positive father\u2019s presence in families as well as in therapy. Starting from a couple in love, he outlines the difficult transformation from two to three when a child arrives. Unfortunately, father is not present in child developmental theories and his \u201cabsent figure \u201cin family life is mostly a social construct, based on old gender stereotypes. Andolfi outlines the importance for the father to break the male code and his \u201cwork addiction\u201d and re-invent himself in a new co-parenting dimension. Listening to children voice and going back to his roots are two powerful tools to engage fathers in therapy, allowing them to enjoy fully their paternity.<\/p>\n
