In this Master Series, Prof. Maurizio Andolfi uses his multigenerational lens to ex- plore the story of an Italian\/South African couple. Their crisis is exacerbated by the empty nest syndrome \u2013 twins children left home recently \u2013 and the emotional overdependency of Giorgio from his own mother, a widow who has the full care of a disable son. On the other side, the wife Corinne left South Africa for love, misses her family tremendously, feels still as a \u201cforeigner\u201d in Giorgio\u2019s family of origin and is very alone because husband, a cardiologist, is very busy with his work.
\nIn the first part of the meeting, the main issues of the couple are explored in the frame of each partner\u2019s family and cultural development. A special session with the presence of Giorgio\u2019s mother is strongly recommended as well as an online meeting with Corinne\u2019s mother. In order to reach these goals, the twins grown-up children of the couple are invited as therapeutic resources and the next session with the four of them is described in Part 2.
